For example, ASP.NET is more than another version of Active Server Pages (ASP); it also provides a unified Web development model including the necessary services for enterprise-class Web applications development. ASP.NET is also largely syntax compatible with ASP.  It also provides a programming model and infrastructure for more scalable and stable applications while providing greater protection.
